Poppy flowers in Australia is used as a symbol of Remembrance Day celebration if I am not mistaken.
And thank you for featuring their dying states as from them a new life begins.
Thistles are prominent in the countryside where they grow profusely here. And in springtime, they bring hayfever to the countryfolks for those who are allergy to their pollens.

I love the last shot sis. Kala ko yung first shot is peonies, poppies pala yan hehehe. Yung neighbor kasi namin sa WV ang tawag nya dyan is peonies.
I liked that orange poppy and that spent thistle. I wonder if the one I photographed lately was also a thistle. Thanks for sharing here nance.
