Today's Flowers

I visited the flower department of my favorite grocery store last weekend and I saw these ... Primroses of different shades but have one thing in common, they all have yellow centers. From my House Plants book, primroses are early spring bloomers and their Latin name says so. Primula derives from "prima" which means "the first" and indicates that the flowers lead the beautifu parade of spring blooms.
Aren't they a beauty?

Hi Nance, honestly I have not seen primrose in close up. The leaves though remind me of violets.

Welcome back to TF.

Enjoy your weekend.

What an incredible blossom. I am not at all familiar with this plant, but it sounds like one I would like to get to know better.

Hi Nance, I have had some virus problems and my laptop just died. Fortunately I was able to save my files in an external drive, so I was safe. This time when I had the virus, I did not really worry, because I have a neighbor who is so hi-tech and was able to crack and fix the virus. For a while, I wanted to buy one extra lappy, hehehehe, they are so cheap at Bestbuy for $329 only.
