I visited the flower department of my favorite grocery store last weekend and I saw these ... Primroses of different shades but have one thing in common, they all have yellow centers. From my House Plants book, primroses are early spring bloomers and their Latin name says so. Primula derives from "prima" which means "the first" and indicates that the flowers lead the beautifu parade of spring blooms.
Aren't they a beauty?

Hi Nance, honestly I have not seen primrose in close up. The leaves though remind me of violets.
Welcome back to TF.
Enjoy your weekend.
I love primulas in the garden and in pots!
Those are lovely flowers, but I never seem to get them to like me....:)
These are beautiful flowers, with aromatic leaves.
They are lovely.
Very nice your photos of primulas, Nance. We have them here.
Good week for you!
These are wonderful, bright little flowers.
They are !
What an incredible blossom. I am not at all familiar with this plant, but it sounds like one I would like to get to know better.
Hi Nance, I have had some virus problems and my laptop just died. Fortunately I was able to save my files in an external drive, so I was safe. This time when I had the virus, I did not really worry, because I have a neighbor who is so hi-tech and was able to crack and fix the virus. For a while, I wanted to buy one extra lappy, hehehehe, they are so cheap at Bestbuy for $329 only.
Lovely flowers... Nice colors...
...just dropping by, Ate Nance...
