Stained Glass Dome

I've heard of it before ... I've read and seen photos of it in magazines. That is why when I went to Las Vegas, Nevada, visiting the Tropicana Hotel and Casino was a must see for me. You see, aside from being a portrait artist, my other half is also a master stained glass designer. The above photo is only one end of the largest barrel-vault stained glass dome in the world! ... my hubby designed it in the '70's. The details would have been more visible had I taken the picture in daylight ... but this is the best I can do. Enjoy! (if you click the pic you can see more details)

dragonfly, welcome! I'm always amazed at those tiny figures that goes in his designs, he has to use a magnifying glass to draw them. Cartoons (actual window size) on the other hand, are easier for him to draw.

Nance, this is a masterpiece. I've seen a lot of stained glass, when I used to work for an interior design firm, and they all come in all sizes and shapes; however, this is the biggest of them all. I was in Vegas sometime in 2000, but never went inside the Tropicana Hotel. I must see this when I'm in that neighborhood.

Thanks for sharing this.
